September is one day away. For entrepreneurs, that means one thing: Q4 is close. And if you walk into Q4 carrying the dead weight of everything you’ve accumulated over the first eight months — the projects that stalled, the partnerships that aren’t working, the ideas you’re keeping alive out of sunk-cost logic — you’ll be fighting the last war while everyone else is moving forward.
The most powerful thing you can do before September hits is make one more cut.
Not a complicated audit. Not a strategy retreat. One simple question applied to everything on your plate: does this belong in my Q4? If yes, it stays. If you have to think too hard about it, that’s your answer.
I’ve seen entrepreneurs stumble into Q4 with fourteen priorities. You can’t execute fourteen priorities. You can execute three well. The others will either happen at 60% or crowd out the ones that actually matter.
Before this week is out, write down what you’re keeping. Everything else gets moved, delegated, or dropped. Give yourself permission to end the year on fewer things done right.
The Takeaway
The best thing you can do before Q4 starts is subtract everything that doesn’t belong in it.
Keep Moving Forward!
