At some point you have to ask yourself a simple question and give it an honest answer.
How do you actually feel?
Not how you think you should feel given what you’ve been doing. Not how busy you’ve been or how well the week went on paper. How does the body actually feel right now?
I went years without asking this question honestly. I had a version of the answer that was shaped by what I wanted to be true — I’m fine, I’m handling it, this is just what it takes. But that wasn’t an assessment of how I felt. It was a justification for not stopping to check.
The honest answer is available the moment you’re willing to receive it. Your body knows. It’s been keeping the record. It knows how many nights you didn’t really sleep. How many meals were convenience rather than nourishment. How long it’s been since you moved in a way that felt good rather than obligatory.
September has been a month of execution. That’s real and valuable. But execution has a cost, and the body keeps the ledger.
This week, do an honest check-in. Not a medical exam — just a real conversation with yourself. What’s working? What’s accumulated? What actually needs attention before you carry it into the next month?
How you actually feel is always the most useful health data you have.
The Takeaway
Before you close this week, ask your body how it actually feels — and give the honest answer the attention it deserves.
Keep Moving Forward!
