Everything you want to build depends on the energy you bring to it.
Not time — energy. You can have all the time in the world and accomplish very little if you’re running on empty. And you can accomplish an extraordinary amount in a few focused hours when you’re genuinely rested and present.
I learned this slowly and the hard way. For most of my career I managed time. Packed the calendar. Optimized the schedule. Added more in the margins. And I was always running behind, always tired, always feeling like I was doing a lot but not enough.
When I started managing energy instead of time, everything changed.
The question stopped being: where can I fit this in? And started being: when do I have the energy to do this well? That shift meant doing less, but doing it at the right hour in the right state. The output improved dramatically even as the hours went down.
Protect your sleep like a business asset. Protect your mornings. Guard the hours when your mind is clearest. Don’t fill those hours with email and logistics.
Energy is the raw material. Everything else is secondary.
The Takeaway
Managing your energy instead of your time is the shift that changes everything — protect what makes the work possible.
Keep Moving Forward!
